Ms. Sirikanya began by responding to accusations that the opposition lacked "appropriateness" in the debate. She admitted that the 3.78 trillion baht budget was limited, but stressed that it must be used efficiently to stimulate private investment, strengthen the fragile economic structure, and prepare for the uncertain trade crisis, especially the US trade war, which may be prolonged due to President Donald Trump's tax hike policy. She also warned that if the situation is worst, the Thai economy may grow by only 1.3 percent this year, or worse, 1 percent in 2026.
